This daycare and school facility is specifically designed from a
child’s viewpoint with common items built on a modified scale.
Windows are placed closer to the floor to accommodate children.
Separated into multiple panes, the windows can be easily opened
by small hands. Located on a densely wooded 5-acre site, the investigation
and learning of nature is encouraged. The site uses residential
massing to reduce its 20,000 sf footprint. Designed to resemble
miniature homes, the classrooms have exterior patios, linking to
an interior walkway leading to the “Town Center.” This
Center shelters conference rooms, offices, workrooms and multi-use
spaces.
