Located in a gap of mature oaks, the new corporate office building
is the focus of visitor entry while also visually shortening the
725 foot factory to which it is attached. While materials and openings
reference it to the factory, a pair of glass enclosed stairs break
new from old to allow for the addition’s heightened detail.
Stout precast columns bracing second floor offices, combined with
a rusticated base of split faced concrete block, create the “classic
corporate image” desired by the client. A skylit grand stair
hides building services while buffering factory noise and bringing
natural light to the windowless east wall.
